My buddy Don Clark, former Demon Hunter guitarist and creative genius behind design firm Invisible Creature, reached out to me a while back to see if I would be interested in contributing to a special charity this Christmas. The charity is Heartwork, an annual project with the goal of raising money to fund the art room at Target House in Memphis. Target House is a long-term St. Jude facility which provides beautiful lodging for families of children requiring care exceeding 3 months.
Each year, Heartwork pulls together some of their favorite artists, who each create a unique piece of art with a common theme of Hope. A very limited run of fine art prints are sold, and the proceeds go to purchasing art supplies for the children to use while staying at Target House.
For many years I have felt a tremendous pull to use my talents in some way to benefit children and their families who are fighting cancer. Naturally I was honored and excited to take this project on. If you follow my sketches on Instagram you won’t be surprised to see that my piece will include mice!
