  • Last summer, I had the pleasure of taking an online class, “Writing from your roots,” taught by @chrisyokel. As an aside, if you have the opportunity to take a class with him, do so. I am not sure of my point in mentioning Chris’s class except to say, I like classes which brings me to my actual request.

My wife Heather and I will be celebrating 20 years of marriage this summer. We are currently looking for opportunities for a getaway. She is a relatively accomplished painter (at least in my opinion) and I have hopes of learning watercolors. She had suggested that we take a watercolor course together. There appear to be a couple of really good ones at the Madeline Island School of the Arts this summer, but I would love to hear other suggestions from folks.

So rabbits, what say you? Do you have thoughts on anywhere else we may want to explore in terms of art workshops and getaways?

I can’t speak to getaways, but regarding courses, I came across the site Craftsy last month.  I haven’t done an online workshop there, but they certainly look interesting.  https://www.craftsy.com/art

If you’re into puppetry in the “Muppet style” there’s a workshop at the University of North Texas called Beyond the Sock:Puppetry for Television and Film. It is an intense four days of puppet training and fun community building. The instructors are Peter Linz (The Muppets), Noel MacNeal (Bear, from Bear in the Big Blue House) and Pasha Romanowski, creator of Project Puppet. Check it out! http://www.beyondthesock.com

    Love always, aim higher.

It’s not water color, but Wayne Brezinka periodically offers a workshop in Nashville called “Brezinka for Beginners.”  I really enjoyed it (and I know a lot of other rabbits have done it and enjoyed it as well).  http://www.waynebrezinka.com/workshops/
