Hey! Where You At?

NORTH AMERICAN UPDATE: At close to 250 responses already, I’m wondering where the good people of Alaska, Connecticut, Deleware, Hawaii, Maryland, Montana, Neveda, both Dakotas Rhode Island, Utah and Wyoming are.

And Canada, I know where you are, but… where are you? Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario have thrown out a wave, but what about the other 9 Provinces?

So I’m curious. Where do all you regular Rabbit Room readers live? If you read this blog on what you would deem at least a semi- regular basis, would you be so kind as to post a reply with just your loaction– city, state/province, country? I know many of you don’t usually post comments, but maybe just this once? Creating a login is easy, and you don’t have to give us any personal info.

I’ll start. Olathe, Kansas, USA

Russ Ramsey is the pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church Cool Springs in Nashville, Tennessee, where he lives with his wife and four children. He grew up in the fields of Indiana and studied at Taylor University and Covenant Theological Seminary (MDiv, ThM). Russ is the author of the Retelling the Story Series (IVP, 2018) and Struck: One Christian’s Reflections on Encountering Death (IVP, 2017).

  1. Jake Willems

Sorry for two posts. Russ, is Olathe by Overland Park? I am moving with my fiance down there in June after we get married. Know of any good churches out that way?

  2. Margret

This past February, we moved from a suburb of 132,000 people (Elk Grove) to a full town of just under 5,000 residents halfway between the Sacramento Valley and South Lake Tahoe, California. It’s beautiful; absolutely beautiful! How I could have believed I would only feel at home near that phenomenal bit of gorgeous salt water just to the west, I’ve no idea….

This will be our first winterful of snow, even though in February and March we experienced half a handful of spring time snow sighs. We’re ready, though, because we mastered the fine art of building and feeding a fire in the fireplace insert: the sole source of heat in this little, old house.

All of Heaven’s best to all of you, wherever you may be!

  3. Russ Ramsey

Jake, I know one chuch I’m sorta fond of– and yes, Overland Park and Olathe are right next to each other.

Rachel, did we? I don’t remember. Do you read 22 Words. Abraham Piper did this recently.

  4. LauraP

    Omaha, Nebraska

Russ, my brother and his family are moving to KC. I’m looking forward to visiting him and popping in to Oak Hills now and then.

  5. Amy

When I first started reading this blog–Orlando, Florida. Six months ago, my family and I moved to a suburb north of Houston, Texas.

  6. Rusty Hammon

When I first read Rabbit Room I was in Gainesville. Florida just down the road from AP’s Lake Butler.
    Now Tampa, Florida

  7. Terry K

    Kitchener, Ontario, Canada
(C’mon, don’t tell me I’m the only one from this province with good taste!)

  8. Joel

Flourtown, PA (just outside of Philly) since Aug 2009, but have lived in three different states over the last 3 years. Saw AP twice in TX (first Houston, then Austin) and then in MS.

  9. Yvan Rey

I couldn’t help but notice that, strangely, Olathe is an anagram of Loathe (with my poor English, doesn’t that mean anything ?)

Vevey, Vaud, Switzerland, Europe, by the way.

  10. Kim

Jake Willems: Check out Russ’ church — Oak Hills PCA (http://www.oakhillspca.com/) — it’s in Overland Park. I’m completely and totally biased, but it’s the best church community in the area. My husband & I were members there throughout our time in KC and wept many tears over leaving that community and Russ’ Godly pastorship.

  11. Kevin Morse

I confess! I check The Rabbit Room at least once a week, and have never commented. You caught me!

    Louisville, KY USA

  12. Cassandra

Currently in East Java, Indonesia but will be heading home to Charlestown, IN at the end of this year.

  13. Peter B

Dallas, TX (am I really the first to post from the city proper?)

EP, you need to list your star system and cluster for proper address format.

Don’t think I’m going to check “Notify” on this post 😀

  14. Jodi B.

Well, it appears there are several of us here in Greenville, SC. BUT I first heard AP when I was at college in Dayton, TN where I used to watch his kids during concerts he and his wife (and a guy named Gabe, maybe) gave for the student body. I’d also like to add my name to the WV gang, since I’m from there but don’t currently claim residence there.

  15. elijah

I live in Pasadena, California, where I am attending seminary, but my heart will always reside in Texas, from whence I hail, so I would like to be tallied as a Texan. I simply cannot abide to be counted as a Californian.

  16. Dan Foster

    Maryland! Maryland!

I’m here, really. Abingdon, MD, to be exact (though I’m at work now, in Middle River, and I think our server is routed through Colorado or something). I didn’t write earlier because I don’t know if I’m a “regular”. Sometimes I check every day, but sometimes not so much. And I’m an engineer, not an artist, so am I even allowed on here? I really enjoy the site though.

  17. becky

Curt, you still exist! Haven’t seen your name here for a while. I’m making plans for BTLoG in Lincoln next month, are you going?

  18. Curt McLey

Hi, Becky. Thanks for asking. My role in The Rabbit Room in recent weeks has been as a reader (which I enjoy as much as writing). A combination of writer’s block and a brutal travel and personal schedule have blocked me from contributing as much as I would like. I hope that is beginning to change. I do have a review of Pete Peterson’s “The Fiddler’s Gun” in the queue. I suspect it will see daylight in the next few weeks sometime. We are planning on seeing BTLOG in Lincoln next month, Good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise. Maybe we will see you there.

  19. Stephen

Independence, MO USA(I just saw this looking through the archives. Maybe it would be a good idea to revive or redo this.) Hey KC dwellers, I think we’re the most represented metropolis/city outside of Nashville.

  20. Janice Kaye

    Alaska! Alaska here!

Six years late, but here I am.

I’ve been a fan for about 5 years.
I was in college in Wisconsin when I first discovered y’all. But Alaska has been my official home since 2003.

  21. Jen Rose

Janice resurrected this thread that I never knew existed.

And now I’m seeing there was a very strong contingent of Florida readers 6 years ago. And here I always thought there were so few! 🙂

  22. Emily Person

I know this thread has been dormant for several years but I’ve somewhat recently discovered the Rabbit Room community and would love to meet others nearby!

    I’m in Connecticut. Anyone nearby?

  23. Sarah Spear

Emily, not sure you’ll see this but I’m in CT! If you’re on LinkedIn, you can find me as Sarah (Hine) Spear.

  24. Emily

Hi Sarah! I’m so glad to discover another rabbit room reader/fan in the area! It would be my dream to create a local new england rabbit room community! Currently I’m finishing up my last year of college in Colorado but as soon as I move back east I’m planning on reaching out to as many local Christian writers and artists as I can find. Local community is so important to me.

For now I’ll add you on LinkedIn!
