Song of the Day: Sandra McCracken

By

In case you missed it, Sandra McCracken released a new record a couple of months ago. In Feast or Fallow is a mixture of Sandra’s own newly-written hymns as well as a number of old hymns re-worked. Here’s a song called “Give Reviving.” Take a minute to listen and if you like what you hear, we’ve got the entire album available in the Rabbit Room store.

Pete Peterson is the author of the Revolutionary War adventure The Fiddler’s Gun and its sequel Fiddler’s Green. Among the many strange things he’s been in life are the following: U.S Marine air traffic controller, television editor, art teacher and boatwright at the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch, and progenitor of the mysterious Budge-Nuzzard. He lives in Nashville with his wife, Jennifer, where he's the Executive Director of the Rabbit Room and Managing Editor of Rabbit Room Press.

This album is great. It took a little while for me to warm up to it since it’s a little different from The Builder and the Architect, but I have grown to love it.

wonderful album. not to be contrary, but I think “Give Reviving” is one of the least-best songs on an album full of really good ones. buy it!

This is a really comforting album. My favorite song: The title track, especially when Thad Cockrell’s voice comes in in verse 1. Nothing like it!

We need these new old hymns. LOVE this record, in all its particulars. Sound. Voice. (AmAZING!) Lyric. It certainly resonates. Thanks, Sandra McCracken!
