New Release: Trouble Go Down

Congratulations are in order for Ron Block, Jeff Taylor, and Rebecca Reynolds. Their new record, Trouble Go Down, has finally arrived! The album is now available in the Rabbit Room Store.

Here’s Ron with a peek at another track.

https://rabbitroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/02-Gather-Ye.mp3 “Gather Ye” started as a melody written by Jeff Taylor; he brought the verse melody and theme, and I added the simple chorus melody. We sent it off to Rebecca Reynolds, and she fashioned these mind-expanding word pictures from the natural world to show God’s grace and love for his people.

We recorded this at Wildwood Studio using what Jeff said is “The best piano in Nashville.” I used 1937 and 1938 Martin D28s and bouzouki, Jeff added accordion, whistle, and harmony vocal. Suzanne Cox sings the daylights out of the high harmony, as usual, and Barry Bales bounces around on the stand-up bass. John Mock is on bodhran.

“Gather Ye”

Gather ye rivers, and gather ye streams, O assemble your praise and be glad! For the waters of earth runneth free like the love of the Father whose infinite Grace upon grace Washes all who are kept in his hand. Grace washes all who are kept in His hand.

Gather new grasses, and gather old pines, O assemble your praise and be glad! For the strength of the Lord like a mountain surroundeth His people with unfailing Grace upon grace Shielding all who are kept in his hand Grace shieldeth all who are kept in His hand.

Love! Oh, love! Grace! Oh, grace! Let the earth gather in praise of her Father, who mindeth and mendeth the land.

Gather cold planets, and gather bright stars, O assemble your praise and be glad, For the song of the Lord through all darkness resoundeth Like angels proclaiming such Grace upon grace Oh, glad tidings be sung through the land. Let these glad tidings be sung through the land.

Gather ye daughters, and gather ye sons, O assemble your praise and be glad, For the children of God runneth free in the love of the Father whose infinite Grace upon grace Beareth all who are kept in his hand Grace beareth all who are kept in his hand.

Love! Oh, love! Grace! Oh, grace! Let the earth gather in praise of her Father, who mindeth and mendeth the land.
