No One Is Alone: A Celebration of Stephen Sondheim
We understand something, we humans: woods are never just woods. Sensing the breaths and rustlings inside, we have learned to marvel at and to mind—at times, to fear—the exhale of otherness that meets us when we stand on the sparser side of a wall of trees.

The Local Show is returning next month to North Wind Manor! As we prepare to get the new season underway, I want to talk a little bit about why I love being a part of it. In order to do that, however, I need to share some reflections I’ve had this week.

Hello, folks! I had good intentions of adding this resource list to the Rabbit Room’s annual “Stuff We Liked in 2021” post, but the document kept growing and I missed the boat. I ended up posting these on social media, but thought it would be helpful to compile them here for your perusal. At the end of Jonathan Roger’s podcast, The Habit, he always asks his guests, “What writers make you want to write?” I love listening to people’s answers—to find out who has encouraged them or given them a vision for writing. I always smile when people say either C. S. Lewis or J. R. R. Tolkien… because, me, too!
