Rebecca!!! Your post is so true for me. I read Jane Eyre every January, because I got it for Christmas in 6th grade. I have every word of it memorized (including all the French phrases and their meanings) but haven’t failed to read it every winter for the last 20 years or so. And, yes, the Tolkien books are 100% fall reading. I have read them…[Read more]

I am glad to have encouraged some other sleepless folks! I have taken to heart what Becca wrote in her comment, “But recently I have just been repeating, ‘the joy of the Lord is my strength’ and believing it.” She needs to write something about getting through the day after a sleepless night!

Phillip, this article came at just the right moment for my husband and me! We need to make some changes in a few different areas of life, and we had become overwhelmed by choices; everything seemed like a genuine possibility. I especially found the concept of accepting a particular “form” as a doorway to freedom. Thank you for putting some…[Read more]

I have not yet read Helena’s books, but I love the way you, Jonny, have encouraged us (by example) to embrace all the different ways believing artists point to the Truth in their work. Now these books are being reprinted, we will have to check them out!

I heartily agree with Kara’s comment! I also wanted to add, in addition to my earlier comment, that sometimes we find ourselves in a holy moment when we are with a lot of people we do not know well at all, and in a place we never really wanted to be. My husband encouraged me to attend a church conference with him in Texas last month–all in…[Read more]

Oooo girl, this sounded so familiar! 🙂 I loved reading this and imagining the joy and fun of “going after it,” and also appreciated the wisdom of tucking a dream in at the end of a long, happy day and being okay with that, too. Thanks for sharing your story.

Thank you, Suzanne, for giving us so many details–interesting in and of themselves–to cause us to praise The Shepherd for his great design, his good purposes, and his relentless faithfulness to care for us and give us constant reminders of his truth all around us. Thanks again!

Loved this! I have a fear of even attempting to plant anything as I have a genetic black thumb, but your post has inspired me to start small and enjoy the process. Thanks!

Thanks for a good reminder that we need to enjoy the joy all around us. I have smiled every time I’ve thought of your Mr Brunson enjoying his dancing. Thank you!

I’m having a manic/panic attack over all the new stuff to read and listen to… If Jesus should return soon, I’m praying there’s a really, really good library in Heaven.
