I may not be able to participate much in the forums, but my family is looking forward to following along with the reading and videos as much as we can amidst this season. My husband Brett, 12yo daughter Norah, and I live in the Frozen North, otherwise known as the Minnesota prairie, where we tap the maple trees to boil the sap down to syrup at the…[Read more]

Dishwashing is my favorite ritual, even above hanging the laundry up to line-dry and sweeping the floor, but those also satisfy. Thank you for putting good work (and good rest) into good words.

BOOKS
Crime and Punishment contained some of the most powerful scenes I read this year.
The Hiding Place was an awe-inspiring true story.
Placemaker is the book I want to write my very own version of someday.
Home and Lila were incredibly moving sequels to Gilead, which I read in 2018, and now I need to go back and reread the trilogy all over…[Read more] -

I am awestruck at how Germany’s dark shadow has been preserved, in the mortar, the silence, the haunted locals. America longs to forget her own the chasm of horror. Let us remember and weep.

I did not cry watching the movie, but tears filled my eyes reading these reviews. Here is why: I have felt the camaraderie of the TCBS when I read posts in the (online) Rabbit Room. This place is my little tucked away back room that fills me up with words and tea and hope and the kindness of friends. Here I am challenged and encouraged and…[Read more]

That episode of Libromania was so great, I need to listen to it again!
I think Till We Have Faces is my favorite experience of subverted expectations. Star Trek can pull it off on occasion, too. -

How I love to wake up in the spring with the trees. Our first year we boiled entirely indoors and peeled all the paint off our kitchen ceiling on accident – lesson learned! Thank you for reminding us to tap in to the gravity-defying sweetness of the Wellspring of grace.

Jolly good! [Please feel free to read this comment in a British accent, which I can absolutely not do in real life!] Now to work out all our traveling attempts in the year ahead, as we cannot quite come to both Hutchmoots but tickets for either are not guaranteed! So very glad God directs steps and works all things together and the Spirit is…[Read more]
