I have asthmatic bronchitis and am on extreme steroids, which will consequently suppress my immune system. I have been told by my doctor to not leave my house for three weeks or allow anyone over.
I am also a teacher very worried about my students. Today my sons and I listened to Jennifer Trafton read Henry and the Chalk Dragon. Then we…[Read more] -

My quote is very true. I was giving state testing to a bunch of middle schoolers when I read the final book. My husband warned me, but nope, I insisted on reading it while they tested. I had to go to the back of the room because I was weeping and didn’t want to disrupt the students’ tests. When a teacher finally came by to give me a bathroom…[Read more]

As someone with fibromyalgia, who has a journal where I literally rate my pain daily, I really appreciated this. I am on day 4 of a mild migraine (one I can work through). And I am trying to find the grace to still be gracious to others, to remember that pain is not the defining characteristic of me.

As I watched the video the first time, I did notice the lack of diversity. But I assumed the best with an open casting-call. Perhaps this is more a critique on the state of our churches than on the state of your video.

A friend just recommended this book to me a few weeks ago and I read it. It was lovely.

For years I had called myself “unloved” as I dealt with depression and illness alone. Then one day I was looking through a book of names in a used store and looked up the meaning of my name. I had to sit down when I read “Sheri means Beloved.” My name was almost Sara after my grandmother. But right before I was born, my father just ran…[Read more]
